Christians can be demon oppressed but not demon possessed. When someone accepts as Jesus their savior that person receives a born-again spirit. Demonic torment/oppression results from strongholds in the soul and body but not the spirit. Because a Christian has a soul and lives in a body, those parts of us can be affected by the demonic realm. Christians are “God-possessed” because at salvation they revive the spirit of God into their spirit leaving no room for a demonic spirit to take residence.
